Atlanta or BUST!

I don't really know what this saying means, but in my situation, our trip to Atlanta was a bust.  The stomach flu visited our home the Sunday before we were to depart for Atlanta on Wednesday.  At first Harper was a little under the weather...some vomiting and loose stool, but nothing major.  Then I got the stomach flu.  As usual, I ended up in the emergency room in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.  Tommy, the baby, and I were holed up in a private room (thank god) and my IVs were running wide open.

Long story short...we made our flight on Wednesday and proceeded to get everyone, I mean everyone, sick.  My mom, step-dad, 2 brothers, dad, step-mom, step-sister, and niece all got the stomach flu.  Not to mention that Harper, my dad, and I spent our last day in GA at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital because Harper just could not stop have diarrhea or vomiting.  It was possibly the best trip that I've ever taken.

I hope that the stomach flu avoids your household this time around and that you can all enjoy foods besides bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.  Good luck to ya!

This is Harper passed out at the ER in her cute little hospital gown.

Life Update

Hi Everyone!  I hope that the new year has started off with a bang for you and yours.  It sure has for us!  We just found out that we are expecting our second child in September!!!  I am extremely pumped and can't wait for junior to get here.  Granted, I've only been pregnant for about 5 minutes, and you never know what can happen in the first few weeks, I am still excited to be sharing this great news.

On another front, Tommy as accepted a position as a flight surgeon with the Navy and we will be shipping out of the Hampton Roads area to Pensacola, FL this summer so that he can attend flight school.  After his six months there, we will be moving again to places unknown.  We are hoping that he will be accepted into the July class so that we can move before the arrival of our little bundle of joy.

Little Harpy has been taking her first steps too!  Currently, she only wants to go about four or five steps, but I'm sure that will be changing as her confidence builds.  She has also been under the weather the past few days.  Tommy calls it NDV, or for us regular folks, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.   We are going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully he will set is up so that she will be feeling better for our trip to Atlanta on Wednesday.

Not much else is going on.  I am sleeping a lot when the baby sleeps, so my crafts and sewing have been temporarily put on hold.  I haven't even done my nails in the last week.

I'll be back next week with the details from our trip to Atlanta.
Thanks for reading,

Holiday Nails!

So I've been really loving my fingernails!!  It does take some time to paint them myself, but much less time than going to the salon and waiting for them to dry.  I just paint them at night on the stand and then apply them the next morning.

Here are some shots of my holiday nails:
This is Essie Scarlet O'Hara and Set in Stones

I can't seem to get my formatting correct.  My apologies!
I had another color combo that looked awesome, but I didn't take any pictures.  You will have to take my word on it.  Give OPI Ink and OPI Sparkle-Icious.  It was a match made in heaven.  I wore those for NYE.

Lastly, the past few days, I have been sporting this little number since it has been actually cold here.

Essie's Carnival over Sweet Talker.  I got lots of compliments on this one.

Good Ol' June Bug

As many of you know, June is my 2.5 year old chocolate lab.  Despite that she lives with a smart dog, June just can't keep up with Mandy, my 6 year old black lab.

This is Juney:
Here she is just relaxing.

This is more of June is really like in real life:

As you should be able to tell from these pictures, she is our special child.

My parents have given us their shock collars and we thought it would be a good idea to train the dogs so that we can let them out to do their business without a leash.

Let me just say that day 1 was a total disaster!  Poor June just can't seem to get the hang of this, so we'll continue to try with her.

She would not even go outside for the rest of the day.  More updates to come as the situation progresses.
